All of us at United Way of Nevada County would like to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in Project Warmth 2024. This includes the businesses who agreed to have donation boxes; the amazing volunteers who picked up, organized, and helped redistribute all the clothing; the organizations who helped us get the word out; and all the wonderful residents of Nevada County who donated new and gently used winter clothing, including the Lake of the Pines Ladies Golf Association who featured Project Warmth at their holiday luncheon.
In four shopping sprees in November and December, we were able to collect and give away 2,370 pieces of warm clothing. This includes over 1,200 coats, jackets and sweaters and is nearly 40% more than we gave away in 2023. We couldn’t have done it without all of you.
A special thank you to all the wonderful local businesses who hosted our Project Warmth boxes:
