Why Partner with Us?
We know that the most effective community change is based on a foundation of collaboration. Together we are able to work toward helping all Nevada County residents meet the basic needs of food, health, and clothing.
United Way of Nevada County (UWNC) partners with organizations that share our view that the way to improve lives is by directing community resources to local needs. The commitment to addressing basic needs, such as helping alleviate food insecurity, providing warm clothing to those in need, and making access to health care a priority, among other things, is very important.
There are many benefits to becoming a United Way of Nevada County (UWNC) Partner. It enhances your organization’s credibility, and let's your clients and customers know that your organization reaches out to care about this community.

The United Way Brand
The use of the United Way brand is a mark of distinction that provides mutually beneficial results for both UWNC and the organizations within our Partner Network.
Our Partners are encouraged to utilize the United Way brand, which is one of the most recognized nonprofit brands in the world. The more we get the United Way of Nevada County name out in the community, the more people will identify the name with good work. That provides mutually beneficial results for both UWNC and the partners in our network. You are encouraged to use our “Community Partner” logo on/in your:
- Website
- Brochures
- Newsletters (electronic or printed)
- Facility/office entrance
Partner Responsibility
United Way of Nevada County (UWNC) in one of its roles as a coalition-builder seeks to create and maintain a vibrant and effective Partner Network consisting of local companies, nonprofit agencies, commissions, organizations, schools, and local government (organizations) to address community needs and further its mission of improving lives by directing community resources to community needs. Community Partner responsibilities include at least one of the following each year:
- Financial support/donation: A minimum of one general donation and one event sponsorship per year.
- Volunteer support: A minimum of two volunteers each for two different events throughout a calendar year.
- Collaboration opportunities: Including but not limited to programs, grants, and fundraisers.
- Marketing opportunities: Including mentions in e-newsletters, on website, and on social media.
