United Way of Nevada County partners with local agencies, nonprofits, and volunteers to help our community prepare for wildfires, storms, and other emergencies.
The Buddy Evacuation Team (BET) is a new community initiative funded by the California Fire Foundation. The program connects volunteers (“Buddies”) with residents (“Participants”) who may need help preparing for or evacuating during emergencies.
How it Works:
This simple, local system helps to ensure that no one is left behind during an evacuation.
Join our team of volunteers and make a difference in your community. Whether you can give a few hours a week or a few hours a month, your time and skills are appreciated.
