Day of Action

On Friday, June 27, volunteers will roll up their sleeves to help complete meaningful projects that support food access, housing, survivor services, transportation resources, and animal rescue in our community.

No special skills are required — just a willingness to help. If you have experience with painting, construction, landscaping, repairs, furniture assembly, or general project work, we would love to know when you sign up.

Lunch, refreshments, and a free United Way of Nevada County t-shirt will be provided.

Whether you are passionate about helping families, supporting food access, assisting survivors, improving mobility and independence, or caring for rescued animals, there is a Day of Action project waiting for you.

A few hours of your time can make a lasting difference for local nonprofits and the people and animals they serve every day.

Thank you to everyone who participated in Day of Action 2025. During this annual day of community action, volunteers help local nonprofits with projects needed to help them do their important work in our community.

This year we helped the Food Bank of Nevada County, FREED Center of Independent Living, Hospitality House and Sundance Horse Rescue and Sanctuary.

The more we are United, the more we can achieve—and Day of Action 2025 was a shining example of that truth!
