Our Mission is to improve lives by equitably directing community resources to local needs. We commit to leveraging all of our assets to create a more equitable community.
OUR VISION:
United Way of Nevada County envisions a community where all individuals and families, especially those who have historically been marginalized, achieve their desired potential through healthy living, education, safety and income stability.
WHAT WE DO:
Our priority is to work towards having all residents in our community meet their basic needs of food, health, safety, and clothing.
We work with partner organizations to identify gaps in social services and mobilize our volunteers to run programs to fill those gaps. Our current gap programs include Food Access Saturday, School Pantry Program, Disaster Preparedness and Project Warmth. We have also recently introduced the Nevada County Emergency Fund, providing funds for unexpected expenses.
All our efforts focus on the residents of Nevada and Sierra Counties.
Support for those efforts comes from local donors and local volunteers.
