Wine Tasting October 18, 2025
Enjoy an afternoon of tasting and learning about top-quality wines with Jim Allen, creator of 83 vines. Plenty of light appetizers. All wines are available to order. Proceeds go to the School Pantry Program.
nacho Booth at the Fair August 6-10, 2025
Team up with other volunteers to build Nacho orders, keep food stocked, or serve soda and water. On-site training will be provided, but if you have ever made a plate of nachos, you can do this!
Volunteers will get a free ticket for entrance to the County Fair for each day of volunteering, so you can enjoy the fair before or after your shift. And, of course, free yummy nachos!
DAY OF ACTION JUNE 14, 2025
It's time to get ready for Day of Action! This year we have 4 different projects from 4 local community-based organizations - the Food Bank of Nevada County, FREED Center of Independent Living, Hospitality House and Sundance Horse Rescue and Santuary.
HEALTH/SAFETY AND FIRE PREPAREDNESS CARNIVAL. JUNE 7, 2025
Join us at the 20th annual Carnival from 11-4 at the Rood Center in Nevada City. We will have important Fire Preparedness information to share with you. This is a free, family fun event.

Book sale at the rood center
Find a huge variety of used books for sale in the lobby of the Rood Center every October. Volunteer to help others shop and pick up a few books while you are there.
Day of Action - june 22nd 2024
It's time to get ready for Day of Action! This year we have 4 different projects from 4 local community-based organizations - Gold Country Senior Services, Interfaith Food Ministry, Sundance Horse Rescue and Sanctuary, and Community Beyond Violence. We will be holding a breakfast with treats and coffee provided by BriarPatch Food Co-op and all volunteers will receive double Patchworks hours! Lunch provided by Northridge Restaurant of Penn Valley.
Go bag Party - june 8TH 2024
