 United Way of Nevada County (UWNC) seeks a Program Coordinator to support UWNC's new Disaster Preparedness Awareness Program.  

Reports to: Executive Director - United Way of Nevada County
Job Type: Part Time, Non-Exempt, Temporary - through December 2024.  

Responsibilities and Duties: Oversee and track all grant activities; Work with Executive Director to develop disaster preparedness awareness presentations and trainings; Schedule, promote and lead in-person and online presentations; Coordinate and support outreach schedules with Event/Outreach Coordinator; Assist the Director with development of educational materials as needed; Serve as organizational point of contact for program volunteers; Other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Experience in the fields of program administration and volunteer management; Personal volunteer experience and commitment to volunteerism in community service;
Strong attention to details and strong organizational skills; Excellent written and verbal communications skills; High level of discretion, sensitivity, and good judgement; Self-motivated with ability to operate independently and ability to work collaboratively with a team; Able to attend morning, evening, and weekend events/meetings outside of normal office hours; Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications of Microsoft Office; Bilingual in Eng. and Span. preferred. 

Physical Requirements & Work Environment: The Program Coordinator will be expected to have daily transportation to attend program events as necessary. The position could involve intermittent physical activities including bending, reaching, sitting, and walking. Additionally, it is anticipated that the person may spend several hours each day seated at a computer. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable a person with physical disabilities to perform the job.

Pay and Benefits: $21-$25 per hour. Flexible schedule; Paid time off; Paid travel expenses.

 Supervised by: Program Coordinator and Executive Director - United Way of Nevada County
Job Type: Part Time, Non-Exempt, Temporary - through December 2024.

Responsibilities and Duties: Seek out opportunities with other organizations to provide education and awareness of disaster-preparedness; Attend various community events and create opportunities to educate the public and disseminate the information; Assist/ support volunteers with canvassing; Assist the Program Coordinator with the planning, coordination, and promotion of all community event; Monitor the inventory and manage the ordering of education materials as needed.

Other duties as assigned.
